Building The Foundation
Zimmerman Kitchen Design is a 4th generation family-owned-and-operated business, whose origins span over 85 years. Moe Zimmerman started his business career in 1935, going door-to-door to sell maintenance supplies to property managers in New York City. After numerous requests for appliances from his loyal customers, Moe decided to open his first retail location under the name Brick Church Appliance. Moe grew this small family business into an appliance empire, which in its prime sold over $100 million in yearly gross sales across 17 different locations.

Installing A Quality Brand
Together, Moe Zimmerman and his son-in-law, Chuck Lubetkin, ran Brick Church Appliance until it was sold in 1988. Soon after, Moe’s grandson, David Lubetkin, took over their family’s original maintenance supply business. Like Moe, David saw an opportunity to cater to his clients, who were requesting kitchen cabinetry. David opened his first boutique kitchen cabinet retail location in New Jersey under the name Cabinets Direct USA. David quickly expanded Cabinets Direct USA to five retail locations throughout New Jersey (Livingston, Wayne, Paramus, West Long Branch, Toms River).

Designing For The Future
After identifying a unique opportunity to expand into Florida, David set up shop in Boca Raton and Palm Beach Gardens. To pay homage to his late grandfather, David named the Florida business: Zimmerman Kitchen Design. The 7 retail kitchen and bath design locations are now run by Moe’s grandson and great-grandson, David and Mark Lubetkin. The father-son duo has built one of the Nation’s highest-rated kitchen and bath retail companies, with over 500 cumulative 5-star reviews across their 7 retail locations.
