About Us

Our story began in 1935 with our great-grandfather, Moe Zimmerman, a relentless entrepreneur with an unstoppable drive. Starting with door-to-door sales in New York City, he pivoted when a customer asked for an icebox, launching Brick Church Appliance in Orange, New Jersey. His passion and dedication laid the foundation for a legacy of innovation.

Moe’s drive inspired his son-in-law, Chuck Lubetkin, a fighter pilot turned electrical engineer, who helped expand Brick Church to 35 locations across the Tri-State area. Years later, Chuck’s son David, fresh out of Princeton University with an Economics degree, joined the business to fuel its growth. After the company was acquired in 1990, David saw an opportunity to evolve the business again.

David launched Cabinets Direct USA, building it into a leading name in the industry with six locations across New Jersey. As the business grew, his wife Kathy, daughter Jami, and son Mark joined to help scale operations. In 2019, David expanded to South Florida with Zimmerman Kitchen Design to pay homage to Moe Zimmerman, the patriarch of our family.

GET TO KNOW US!

We love many aspects of our business, but none brings us greater fulfillment than seeing the finished transformation. Walking into a beautifully completed kitchen or bathroom, capturing the details in photos, and witnessing our clients’ excitement makes all the hard work worthwhile. Seeing their vision come to life is what drives us every day.

Think about how you use your kitchen daily. Storage, workflow, and durability should be just as important as aesthetics. A successful remodel balances style, function, and long-term value to create a space that is both beautiful and practical. Our team ensures every detail is thoughtfully designed to fit your lifestyle.

We’ve had the opportunity to work on some truly special projects. Recently, we completed a bold lime green kitchen remodel in Boca Raton, bringing a fresh and modern twist to the space. We recently just completed two separate 12,000+ sq ft full home renovations (one in Stone Creek Range in Delray Beach, & the other in a beautiful residence directly on the intracoastal in Boca Raton, Florida). We’ve also taken our expertise beyond the U.S., completing remodels across multiple Caribbean islands. One of our most memorable projects was transforming a rustic log cabin in New Jersey, blending natural charm with modern functionality. Over the years, we’ve worked with celebrities and government officials, each project bringing new challenges and the chance to meet fascinating clients. No two kitchens are ever the same, and that’s what makes our work so exciting!

Be patient and trust the process. We’re in this together. Remodeling can feel overwhelming at times, but we’re here to guide you every step of the way. If an unexpected bump appears along the road, just remember that we are here to support you so you do not need to stress. In the end, when you’re standing in your brand-new space, you’ll know it was all worth it. And we can’t wait to celebrate that moment with you!

We’re seeing a shift toward warmer, natural tones, textured wood cabinets, and organic materials like stone and quartzite. Smart storage solutions like appliance garages, integrated pantries, and deep drawers are also in high demand.

At the same time, bold statement colors are making an impact, adding personality and contrast. Many homeowners are choosing to make their island the focal point with a standout color or material. A growing favorite is Japandi design, blending Japanese minimalism with Scandinavian warmth for a clean, calming aesthetic. No matter the trend, we take our clients’ tastes and turn them into reality, creating spaces that are both beautiful and functional.

Showroom Design Review & Selections

Once we have a clear understanding of your vision, we’ll invite you to our showroom to review the design and pricing. This is where you’ll explore cabinetry and countertop options, refining the details to bring your dream kitchen to life.

3

Commitment & Deposit

When you’re confident in your design and excited to move forward, you’ll leave a deposit that will be deducted from your final purchase price. This step secures your project and allows us to move into finalization.
